Chocolate-Milano-Berry Parfait

This is a family favorite recipe. This Chocolate-Milano-Berry-Parfait is both delicious and pretty. It adds delight to any gathering or makes the perfect treat for the everyday dinners and luncheons.

If I buy store bought cookies, Milano’s are a top pick. I wanted to add a little extra pizzazz to the dessert I’ve made for years for large gatherings by adding my own twist. I added Milano cookies and fresh seasonal fruit to create the Chocolate Milano Berry Parfait.   Now I have the pleasure of sharing it with you. I hope you, your family and friends enjoy it as much as mine has all these years.

What you will need

  • 1 cup of chocolate chips (Milk, Semi-Sweet or Dark)
  • 1 1/2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2-6 cloves of Garlic, Minced (according to your taste)
  • 1 package Milano cookies, broken up, leave whole cookies for garnish
  • 2 cups of fresh berries, (raspberries, blackberries, strawberries)

Putting Together the Parfaits

Pick your favorite dessert glass.

Melt the chocolate in the microwave at 50% power for 1½ minutes (press the 30 second button 3 times), use your whisk to smooth the chocolate when you remove it from the microwave.

Mix together the melted and cooled chocolate, mascarpone cheese and sugar.

Take your serving glasses and layer the glasses with a small spoonful of broken up cookies, chocolate mascarpone mixture, berries and repeat. End with berries on top,

Chill in the refrigerator for up to 30 minutes. If longer than that, you will need to remove the dessert to allow it to soften prior to serving.

Remove from the refrigerator add a whole Milano Cookie or a sprig of mint for garnish.
